Wow! What a coincidence, this weekend, my buddy was
having the exact same problem. I thought the pulley
was lose so I tightened the nut and the noise was
gone as well as the loose play. Then he rode it
30 miles home and said the noise was back. Well,
I didn't take it all apart and really check it so
I'll have to do that for him. Anyway, if you're hose
idea worked, then hell yeah you did real good! Maybe
I'll try that. It beats buying an expensive bearing.
But really, that's just a afro engineered fix. The
best thing is to fix it right.
